Happy Birthday Jura!

My neice Jura turned one today!! Happy Birthday!

The Beginning of Rick's, I mean Dylan's Sporting Career

Dylan started T-Ball last week through a rec league for the town. There are four teams and he just happened to get put on the Red Sox. Rick cringes when they yell "Go Red Sox!" It was an 85 degree day and as you can see Dylan's cheeks are the same color as his shirt (now you know why I never dress him in red). He loved it and can't wait to go back next time. You can see him in the green Celtics hat in the group picture.

Final full day of Fultz Vacation

Thursday was our last full day of vacation in North Conway. This was the perfect place to get away and unplug from life a little. We hit the pool, game room, tubs just like every other day. We drove to the children's museum which was not open to the public. With rain looming but still an hour or so away we decided to try to brave one of the more advanced hikes. We drove up Black Cat Mountain to one of the summit hikes. It was a 1.2 mile ascent to the top of Black Cat Mountain. The terrain was pretty tough and Dylan walked about .3 before starting to fall a few times. He asked to be carried. This was going to be an adventure. Lauri carried him for about half a mile. We then put Dylan on my back in the back pack and let Lauri carry Ada. Much better move. THe hike got very steep towards the top. We were able to make it to within .1 of the summit before the climbing got to be full on rock climbing. Carrying two tired kids up boulders with rain about to fall for that last .1 was not going to happen. The views were awesome from where we were so we took some pics and got the hell out of there.

Fultz Family Vacation Day Three

Today we attempted to bring both of our hyperactive kids to a paint your own pottery place. After Dylan tried picking up each breakable object several times, he picked out a little bunny to paint. Luckily Ada was strapped into her stroller, although as soon as she saw the cute painted animals she repeatedly yelled "Ah Ga Ah Ga" which means "All done (with this stroller)" until I finally took her out. All I could think about was the fact that we were bringing two bulls into a China shop. Luckily Rick was there to take Ada outside so Dylan could finish his bunny and I could paint a trivet with the kids hand prints as a souvenir. Deep breath.

After that relaxing trip we decided to hike around Echo Lake. Once we got there we realized that Dylan was happier just throwing rocks and sticks into the lake. We decided to take advantage of the free entertainment. Needless to say, Captain Dylan ended up naked, peeing in the water and making a new friend Captain Myles a two year old that was perfectly happy following Dylan pretending to be a pirate. Argh! Yes, he got dressed to play with his new friend. Ada was very happy eating sand, rocks, sticks and mud.

We finished off the day with mini golf, video games, dinner at an awesome pizza place (Ada liked the lemons) and ice cream while watching the sunset. An overall perfect day. Dylan's favorite part of the day- video games. Uggh.

Day Two on The Fultz's Visit North Conway

Dylan mentioned to Rick and I on separate occasions in the past few weeks that he was ready to ride a horse. We took him to a zoo last year and he did not want to ride on the horse that was there. We decided to take him for his first ride this morning. He was really excited to see the horses and feed them his Cheeze-its. He was a bit dissapointed when Nancy (the lady who took us for the ride) told him that "Jed doesn't eat Cheeze-its." He was very apprehensive about getting on Jed but once we got him going he loved it! Ada got to ride in the backpack with Rick alongside the horse and kept "wuffing" at the Horse. She definitely has an obsession with dogs. Much more than the normal little kid likes dog thing. She has been obsessing over every dog we have seen on this trip.

After Horseback riding, Rick and Dylan went to the golf course and hit the practice greeen and Driving range (video to come from that once we get back home), while Ada and Lauri hit the playground. We took an afternoon hike near the hotel, played some baseball, and kept it low key with a movie night and Gigi's pasta in the hotel room.

Day one of Fultz family NH vacation

Monday was our first day of vacation in North Conway. The town is quite as the masses don't hit town until Memorial day. It is a little bit like Capri was in Italy, which is about two weeks away from "go" time. All the businesses are painting, and setting up shop for the big season. Fine by us. A couple of places (Storyland, some ice cream shops, etc...) aren't open but most things are. The weather is perfect and should be all week. It is actually a perfect time to be up here. Mosquitos, black flies, heat, and crowds will be here in two weeks, all of which are not great with two crazy kids.

Day one we hit the pool by 7:30AM since these kids will not sleep in! We hit the game room downstairs and then tubs. (This actually becomes the morning routine every day here) We walk into town and putz around the train station deciding against a 2 hour scenic train tour. We just explored around the train yard, which was probably cooler. We checked out the golf course and spent an hour or so at the playground. Lunch, naps, and then an afternoon hike at Diana's Bath which was a perfect 1.2 mile round trip to a cool waterfall. Lauri showed Dylan a picture of a lady going into an ambulance for slipping on the wet rocks. We told him to be careful of the wet rocks... Dylan with a petrified look says "We need to be careful or the ambulance will come for Dylan?" Needless to say we spent the first 10 minutes of the hike convincing him that an ambulance was not coming, we just need to be careful near the waterfall.

The hike went really well and Dylan walked the whole thing including walking "carefully" around the waterfall. He is really a big fan of walking sticks and really likes our little hiking adventures. After the hike we did dinner and movie night.

The Fultz's Go High Tech

Since we are about 5 years behind most people we are going to attempt to keep a monthly blog of the most interesting things happening to Dylan and Ada in P-mouth.
